Map Postcard of Fuerteventura, Canary Island

Thank you to Juha from South Finland for send me this beautiful Map Postcard from Canary Islands during her vacation.

Juha send me the postcard of Fuerteventura, one of largest island in Canary Island.

CANARY ISLANDS: The Happy Islands
This paradisiac group of islands, enjoying a wonderful climate, with a constant mild temperature through all the year, and splendid beaches of fine sand, consists of 7 larger islands (Gran Canaria, Fuerteventura, Lanzarote, Tenerife, La Palma, La Gomera and El Hierro) and a few smaller ones (Alegranza, Graciosa, Montaña Clara, Roque del Este, Roque del Oeste and Lobos).

Already Greeks and Romans reported on this archipelago of volcanic origins, and called it the Happy Islands, Garden of the Hesperides, Atlantida. Some historians suppose that the legendary continent Atlantis was located here. The islands' original population, commonly called Guanches, is tall and of white skin.

You may refers to here for details of each and every island in Canary Island.

img-621075751-0001 - Copy

The Map Postcard reminded me about a place called Bukchon Hanok Village.
I was so lucky that I experienced to stay 2 nights in one of the Hanok (traditional korean house), Bukchon Guesthouse.

The experience is remarkable !!

Map Postcard of The Galapagos Island

The Galápagos archipelago has a population of around 40,000, is a province of Ecuador, a country in northwestern South America, and the islands are all part of Ecuador's national park system. The principal language on the islands is Spanish.

The Galapagos Islands are unique - they are probably the only place in the world where we can get a flavour of how the world was before humans.

1) The Galapagos national park and marine reserve are unique and extraordinary ecosystems.

2) In common with other oceanic island systems, the Galapagos Islands are fragile.

3) Human activities cause changes in fragile island ecosystems like the Galapagos

4)Today, there are new demands on the biodiversity of the islands.

5)The Galapagos Islands are a microcosm of the social, political, ecological and economic changes occurring in the world.

Thank you to Paolo to send me such interesting postcard.
